On-line Reservations
Some hints about making reservations:
1. When you enter the dates you wish to reserve, the system immediately shows your dates as unavailable. That just means that, at that moment, the dates are available to no-one but you. As you continue throught the steps, you will see that you can reserve the dates and receive a confirmation.
2. If you request a range of dates and one of the dates is unavailable for one of the rooms, that room will not show up as available for any of the days. In other words a room may be available for 3 out of 4 days requested, but it will show as unavailable for your request.
3. Sometimes we have cancellations. If you have checked availability and not found the room you wanted, please check back later. We have recently received a cancellation that frees up several dates in June, 2010.
4. Please call if you have any questions at all. We will be happy to step you through the process over the phone or we will gladly make the reservation for you.

Bicycle Tent 'n Breakfast denied :-(
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, so, in response to many requests, we began the process of obtaining approval from the various government agencies involved. We had decided to establish a bicycle camping area at the B&B to serve the rising number of cyclists that are touring through the area. Unfortunately, the land that we planned to use has restrictive covenants that prohibit camping. We had thought that we had everything worked out, but the process for removing the restrictions on the land use is very long (about a year) and expensive. We have decided to concentrate our efforts elswhere. Sorry bicyclists. We still have rooms available for the upcoming summer!
Swing into Spring
Spring is coaxing the leaves to sprout from the trees along the river and in this shot taken from the porch of the B&B you can see the swing I moved from the yard to the river bank today. The log frame suspends a recycled ski-lift chair from an outdated lift that was replaced with a newer one at Snowbowl, one of our wonderful local ski areas.
THREE
That is the number of new HDTVs added to the guest rooms. We have installed the new flat screen TVs in the Bitterroot River, Lewis and Clark and Wild Rose rooms. Only the Sapphire room remains a TV-free zone. We also upgraded our TV service so we have 2 bazillion channels to choose from now, (up from 1 bazillion). By the time I decide what to watch, I am ready to fall asleep. Yes, John, we now have Fox news.
THIRTY-FIVE
That is the number of incandescent light bulbs we have replaced with new energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs this month. There are still a few incandescents that we need to replace, but we are definately making the "green" effort.

EAT and DRINK in Stevensville
Your favorite Inkeeper, Shelley, enjoying a Porter at the Blacksmith Brewery in Stevi.
There are several great eateries in the area including a Mexican Restaurant, several great Italian Restaurants, Steakhouses and Pizzerias. Don't forget to visit our friendly local microbrewery, Blacksmith Brewing, for some of the best Porter around and a pretty darn good IPA as well. Come to think of it, all of their beers are excellent. Maybe you should try them all!
Mystery Dinner, February 13, 2010
We hosted our second mystery dinner at the B&B to celebrate Valentines day in a special way. We had seven enthusiastic participants who dressed and acted out their roles to perfection. The murderer was nearly unsuspected, until she gave her startling confession after the Creme Brule dessert. We had a great time and plan to do more of these in the future.
Travellers for Open Lands
You may have noticed the literature and donation envelopes placed aroud the B&B. Last year, the Bitterroot River Bed and Breakfast became a charter member in this new conservation program. It is a program that we believe in and it will help to preserve the aspects of Montana that we all love the most; the amazing open mountain vistas, the unbelievable fishing and the access that we all have to recreate in beautiful Montana. Please check out this video and ask about how you can participate when you visit us next. It's easy and no donation amount is too small.

Bitterroot Trout ID
That is one of our guests with a nice rainbow he caught at the B&B.
I caught the two Bitterroot Beauties below right in front of the B&B also. What species of trout are they? (answer below)
The top one is a rainbow and the bottom is a cutthroat.
